Tourist Places to Visit in Visakhapatnam (Around)

1.Simhachalam (16 km), the hill of the lion, a famous pilgrim center dating back to the 11th century, situated on top of a hill. Has interesting architecture and sculptures.

2.Bheemunipatnam(24 km), or Bhimili, once a week Dutch settlement, has a very beautiful beach. Specially interesting is the coastal drive from Vizag.

3. Araku Valley (112 km), at an altitude of 950 meters above sea level. A cool hill resort, it is also the home for many tribal sects whose dances and festivities are of great interest. The drive of Araku is through coffee plantation. A high altitude railway line way with 46 tunnels presents an unusual journey, not to be missed. En route, 90 km from Vizag, are the limestone Borra Caves with stalagmite and stalactite formations.
