FOREIGNERS – Entry Formalities for Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Foreign national can get a 30 day permit to stay at the islands on their at Port Blair from the immigration authorities. In addition, permits can be obtained from :
(a) Indian Mission Overseas.
(b) Foreigners Registration Offices at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Calcutta
(c) The immigration authorities at the airports of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Calcutta.
(d) The Director, Ministry of Home Affairs (ANL Division),
Government of India

New Delhi -110001
through Indian Mission at least 3 months in advance.
The permits for night halt is valid for a month in :
(a) South Andaman including Port Blair
(b) Havelock Island
(c) Neil Island
(d) Baratang Island
(e) North Passage Island
(f) Long Islands
(g) Diglipur
(h) Middle Andaman
(i) Little Andaman excluding tribal reserve areas.
The permit allows a day’s visit to places like
(a) Ross Island
(b) Interview Island
(c) Sister Island
(d) Narcondum Island
(e) Brother Island
(f) Barren Island ( only on vessels)

Indian nationals do not require a permit to visit the Andaman. However a special permission grants by the Deputy Commissioner, Andaman District, Port Blair.
