Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple

Padmanabhaswamy temple is located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it has been held sacred by the Hindus from antiquity. The temple was rebuilt by Raja Marthansa Varma in 1733 AD. With its magnificent gopuram or tower, rising in seven storeys against the reflecting pool in front, the temple is a fine specimen of south Indian architecture. Napier Museum
A colourful and attractive turreted structure standing on the crest of the public garden near Observatory Hill. It has a good collection of bronzes. A model of the Nair joint-family Tharawad or residence is interesting.

Sri Chitra Art Gallery

Napier Museum Compound. It has a good collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Varma and Roerich, copies of the Rajput, Mughal and Tanjore schools and the Ajanta and Bagh caves.
It includes a collection of Eastern paintings from Japan, China, Java and Bali.
