Kanyakumari Temple

This is the first Durga Temple created by Lord Parasurama and is also one among the 108 Shakthi Peethas in the world. The temple is considered to be 3000 year old.
Kumari Amman temple is dedicated to Virgin Goddess Kanyakumari, who stands in eternal vigil protecting the country, is surrounded by a stone wall and stands on the edge of the ocean.

Vivekananda Rock Memorial

It is an impressive rock memorial to Swami Vivekananda. It has been built on a rock situated some 500m offshore. There are two rocks side by side projecting out of the sea. The rock is approachable only by boat which provides a pleasure cruise into the sea.
Below the dome in the main hall, there is a life-size bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda in his standing ‘Parivarjak’ posture.
This 180’-11 ½ ‘ X 56’ Mandapam consists of (1) Sabha Mandapam or the Assembly Hall including Pralima Mandapam (statue section) two rooms, a corridor and an open Prakaram round the Sabha Mandapam (2) Dhyana Mandapam, i.e., Meditation Hall with six adjacent rooms (3) the Front Entrance steps with two rooms and a corridor below the steps and (4) Mukha Mandapam (Portion). It is among top tourist places to visit in Kanyakumari.

Padmanabhapuram Palace

Midway between trivandrum and Kanyakumari Padmanabhapuram Palace is great place to stop on the way to Kanyakumari. It is 35 kms from Kanyakumari. Padmanabhapuram Palaceis located in at Padmanabhapuram Fort, in Padmanabhapuram, Kanyakumari District but it is administered by the Government of Kerala archaeology department. The palace is located at the foot of the Veli Hills, which form a part of the Western Ghats. The river Valli flows nearby. It is among top tourist places to visit in Kanyakumari.
