DARJEELING

Nested in the Himalayas, Darjeeling is situated at an altitude of 2134 metres. The name of the town has been derived from “Dorje Ling” meaning the place of Dorje-the Mystic.

KALIMPONG

Fifty-one kilometer east of Darjeeling and at an altitude of 1250 metres lies Kalimpong the former headquarters of the Bhutanese Governor.
